How to Find Business Emails from Google Maps (2026 Guide)

Google Maps lists millions of businesses but hides their email addresses. Here is how to turn map listings into a verified email list, manually and at scale.

Google Maps is the largest business directory in the world, and almost every local business you would want to sell to has a listing. What it does not give you is an email address. You get a name, a category, a phone number, an address, and — crucially — a website link.

That website link is the whole game. This guide explains why, and how to go from a map full of pins to a CSV of verified addresses.

Why Google Maps shows no email

Google collects business data for people looking to visit a business, not to contact it in writing. Phone numbers and directions serve that purpose; email does not. There is no email field in a Google Business Profile, so no amount of clicking will reveal one.

The email exists — it is just published somewhere else. Nearly every business that maintains a website puts a contact address on it, because customers expect one. So the path is:

Map listing → business website → contact page → email address

Every step in that chain is public information the business chose to publish.

Doing it by hand

Worth trying once, so you understand what you are automating:

  1. Search your niche and city in Google Maps — "dental clinic Miami".
  2. Open a result and click through to its website.
  3. Look for a Contact or About page. If nothing is there, check the footer and the imprint page.
  4. Copy the address into a spreadsheet alongside the business name.
  5. Repeat.

Expect two to three minutes per business once you account for slow sites and dead links. A list of 200 prospects is therefore a full working day, and you will have made mistakes in the last hour of it.

Where the manual method breaks down

Coverage. Google Maps shows roughly 20 results per search view. To reach 200 dental clinics in a metro area you must search repeatedly with different terms and sub-areas, tracking what you have already seen.

Hidden addresses. A meaningful share of sites protect their email against exactly this kind of collection — writing it as an image, splitting it across HTML elements, or using Cloudflare's email obfuscation. To a human it looks normal; to a naive copy-paste it is invisible.

Dead addresses. Between 15% and 30% of scraped addresses are no longer deliverable. Sending to them damages your sender reputation, which quietly reduces delivery for the addresses that are good.

Adjacent search terms. Searching "dental clinic" misses the orthodontist, the pediatric dentist, and the cosmetic dentistry practice — all of whom are the same buyer for most products.

Automating it properly

A tool worth using has to do four separate jobs, not one:

1. Discovery. Query the map source for every relevant term across every location you care about, and de-duplicate as it goes. One business often appears under several search terms.

2. Extraction. Visit each website and read the homepage plus the contact and imprint pages. This is where most tools stop early — checking only the homepage misses the majority of addresses, because most businesses put contact details on a dedicated page.

3. Verification. For each address, confirm the domain exists and accepts mail. Checking the MX record removes dead domains instantly. An SMTP-level check goes further by asking the receiving server whether the mailbox exists, though many providers refuse to answer honestly.

4. Ranking. A business often publishes several addresses — info@, careers@, privacy@, plus a form handler. Sending to the wrong one wastes the send. A good tool prefers addresses on the business's own domain and favours the ones a human actually reads.

Be sceptical of any tool promising an email for every business. Two honest constraints:

  • Not every business has a website. Some operate entirely through their map listing and a phone number.
  • Not every website publishes an address. Many use a contact form instead, deliberately.

In practice, a well-run search over a typical local niche produces email addresses for somewhere between 30% and 60% of the businesses found. The variance is mostly geography and industry: professional services publish addresses far more often than restaurants; some countries have legal requirements that push the number higher.

Anyone quoting you 95% is either counting guessed addresses — info@ at a domain, hoping it exists — or counting contact form URLs as emails.

Staying on the right side of the rules

Two things are commonly confused. Collecting publicly published business contact details is broadly lawful in most markets. Sending to them is a separate question governed by different rules, and the rules vary by where your recipient is.

Practical baseline for cold outreach:

  • Write to businesses, not to private individuals.
  • Make it genuinely relevant to that specific business. Blasting an identical message to 5,000 addresses is both bad practice and how you get blocked.
  • Identify yourself properly and include a real way to opt out.
  • Honour opt-outs immediately and permanently.

GDPR does not ban B2B outreach in the EU, but it does require a legitimate interest and a clear opt-out. CAN-SPAM in the US is more permissive on consent and stricter on disclosure. Check what applies where you are sending before you scale up.
